Overview

The T1 Electrical Box delivers dependable protection for small electrical and control systems. Compact yet practical, it is a preferred option for engineers who need robust performance, security, and straightforward installation across residential, commercial, and light industrial sites.

Built for the British Climate

Every T1 enclosure is manufactured from high-grade Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP), strengthened with 300,450 gsm Chopped Strand Mat (M705) and bonded using CrysticROOF resin. This construction provides excellent strength, impact resistance, and long-term durability.

The exterior is finished with marine-grade Crystic® GT-600 gelcoat in BS226 Green. It protects against UV rays, rain, frost, and airborne pollutants, helping the enclosure remain stable, weatherproof, and colour-true for years in UK conditions.

Security and Durability

The door system includes a Yale 77 Traditional Nightlatch with a 5-pin cylinder and deadlock function for primary protection, supported by a stainless-steel slide latch for additional security. ZOO ZHSS232 stainless-steel hinges provide smooth, reliable operation, while Scapa 3259 foam tape creates a tight seal to help prevent water and dust ingress.

Professional Interior Layout

Internally, the box is fitted with a 12 mm ALPHAPLY plywood mounting board for stable equipment installation and reduced vibration. The walls are lined with 3.6 mm eucalyptus-faced poplar core plywood, offering a clean, paintable surface that improves visibility and supports neat cable and component layout.

Is this right for my project?

Best for
Small-scale electrical, control, or metering installations where a compact enclosure with minimal depth is required for UK outdoor use.
Engineer's advice
Choose the T1 when space is restricted and equipment depth is minimal. It is ideal for consumer units, small control panels, sensors, and telecom termination points where reliable weather protection and secure access are required without increasing cabinet size. If additional internal depth is needed for larger meters or split systems, consider the T2 model.
